The event was started with readings from the Holy Quran and Holy Bible, after which Vice Principal Prof. Naseem Haider Kazmi, Vice Principal Prof. KalimUllah, and Degree Year Head Dr. Yar Mohammad Maghmoom Khattak motivated the young Edwardians with speeches celebrating their further higher studies in other institutions.

College proctors were awarded certificates for their duties served in the college. After the speeches of college staff and the award ceremony, students were called for dinner. After dinner a musician was waiting for them to start music for the entertainment of students and college staff. The students enjoyed their best because it was a last gathering of their session at college.

The Leavers Dinner for degree students is an old tradition by which Edwardes College Peshawar says good-bye and wishes good luck to its students. Edwardes has contributed a great deal to society by producing great doctors, engineers, politicians and civil service personnel.Founded in 1900 by the Church Missionary Society, Edwardes was the first institution of higher education in what is now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and it was the natural outgrowth of Edwardes School, which was founded in 1855.
