“I am glad to be here, and I am enjoying the work and the environs,” said the Principal. “I am grateful for excellent colleagues: Prof. Nasim Haider, Prof. Kalim Ullah, Prof. Francis Karamat and Mr. Fahim Khan of the Management Team. I have had many conversations and gatherings: plenaries with faculty and staff, receptions for PYLC and LUMS awardees and impending graduates, and other times with students. Bishop and I met with the Governor for an initial meeting, and then this week the Vice Principals and I attended the dinner for higher education leaders from throughout the province at Governor’s House, where I had opportunity to meet the Governor again. A diocesan function on AIDS work enabled me to interact in a friendly environment with local leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami, the conservative religious political party.”
The group discussed in detail Vision 2013, the document that sets directions for the college over the next several years. It also reviewed the Principal’s position description, which details responsibilities in the areas of academics, internal administration, finance and property, Board of Governors, overall leadership, and external relations. This comprehensive list is the first such position description for an Edwardes principal and is designed to be a model for improving position descriptions throughout the college.
