“We are people of different countries, faiths and races living in harmony and friendship. We work together and try to learn the secret of fellowship and peace. We hope our lives may be more useful and this sprit of helpfulness will enrich the province in which we live to the greater glory of God"

Edwardian gathering planned for Liverpool, UK PDF Print E-mail

A tea gathering of Edwardians in the United Kingdom will be held on Saturday, 8 October 2011, at Liverpool Hope University in Liverpool. All Edwardians in Britain are invited to participate. Attendees are asked for informal conversation at 2:30 p.m., with presentations and group discussion beginning around 3:00.

Principal Canon Titus Presler will share news of Edwardes, and he will be accompanied by his wife the Rev. Jane Butterfield.  “I very much hope Edwardians will be able to attend,” said the Principal.  “The event will provide opportunity to renew old friendships and to hear from me about current developments at Edwardes.”  Former Principal Canon Huw Thomas will speak, and the group will be welcomed by Bishop Ian Stuart, Pro Vice-Chancellor Emeritus of Liverpool Hope.

There is a longstanding partnership between Edwardes and Liverpool Hope University, through which a large number of Edwardians have taken advanced degrees at Liverpool Hope.  “We celebrate this relationship and hope together to strengthen it for the future,” said Dr. Presler.  “We are grateful to the University for hosting us.” The specific venue is
the Eden Building Atrium, Hope Park. Local Edwardians will be at the centrally located Security Lodge that afternoon to provide directions. Alumni are advised that the University is not able to provide attendees with overnight accommodation.

Personal invitations are being sent to all Edwardians in the U.K. for whom the College has contact information, but that is a limited number. If you see this notice, please consider yourself invited and get in touch. Attendees should feel free to bring any family members.  Alumni are asked to reply about their plans to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it so that the organisers can plan appropriately for the number who will attend.
