A number of appointments have been announced by Principal Dr. Titus Presler at year’s end:

Mr. Shah Mehmood, who has served as Deputy Administrative Officer and over two decades in Edwardes College, has been appointed Administrative Officer as of 1 January 2012.  The Administration Department oversees requisitions, human resources, and college functions.  Shah succeeds Prof. Francis Karamat, who is on extraordinary leave.  Until the Estate Manager is appointed, Mr. Mehmood will continue to oversee matters related to buildings and grounds as well.

“It has been a pleasure serving with Shah,” the Principal said, “and the Management Team looks forward to his continued care and efficiency in guiding the work of a central department in the College.”

Ms. Sana Manzur, who has been Internal Auditor, will serve as Acting Finance Director as of 1 January 2012.  This shift is occasioned by the 6-month extraordinary leave granted to Finance Director Fahim Khan.

“Fahim Khan has rendered extraordinary service in stabilizing College finances over the last several years, and we wish him well on the leave,” said the Principal.  “Sana Manzur has been an invaluable asset in financial accountability, and the Management Team is confident that College finances are in good hands during this period.”

While Ms. Sana Manzur serves as Acting Finance Director, Mr. Abdul Qadeem Khan, from the accounting firm of Shahid Ahmad & Co., is serving as Acting Internal Auditor.  The Management Team held interviews for this position, and Mr. Qadeem has been serving since mid-December.

Oversight of the College Hostel, which houses 200 men students in several residences, has been confirmed with the promotion of several wardens and the appointment of one new warden.  Prof. Naveed Ali, Head of the Department of Professional Studies, has been appointed Senior Hostel Warden, succeeding Prof. Francis Karamat.  He began his Hostel work as 2nd-Year Warden in 2007, and a number of additional duties were added over time.

Prof. Taj Masih of the Urdu Department has been appointed Degree Hostel Warden, and Prof. Changez Khan of the Department of Computer Science has been appointed as 2nd-Year Hostel Warden, all effective 1 September 2011.  Prof. Noor Jamal, the new lecturer in Political Science has been appointed Assistant Hostel Warden, effective 1 October 2011.

“This team of wardens provides inspirational and efficient guidance to students in Hostel,” Dr. Presler said in making the appointments.  “The Management Team is grateful especially for the leadership of Prof. Naveed Ali in creating a nurturing and enjoyable atmosphere at the Hostel.”

These administrative appointments have been made in consultation with the College Management Team and are endorsed by the Chair of the College Executive Committee, Bishop Humphrey Peters of Peshawar, the Principal said.
