A number of important consultative and governance meetings are being this week in the life of Edwardes College. The Finance Committee met this past Friday, 2 March 2012, to consider the financial reports that are being presented for consideration this week, and we are grateful to Dr. Nasser Ali Khan, an Edwardian who is Director of the Institute for Management Sciences, Peshawar, for chairing that meeting. On Sunday afternoon, 4 March, I met with the Executive Committee of the Edwardes College Teachers Welfare Association (ECTWA) to discuss ramifications of faculty organization plans that are to be considered at governance meetings.
On Monday, 5 March, the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors is meeting to consider all the many agenda items to be considered by the Board later, and we are grateful to the Rt. Rev. Humphrey Peters, Bishop of Peshawar, for his leadership in chairing that meeting. On Wednesday, 7 March, an All-Faculty Meeting will take place at 4pm in Canterbury Hall to consider matters of faculty organization.
On Friday, 9 March, the Board of Governors will meet, with His Excellency Syed Masood Kausar, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, in the chair. The agenda includes Vision 2013, the strategic plan for the College; the Principal’s Annual Report; the proposed Organizational Structure of the College; numerous appointments and retirements that have occurred since the Board last met in May 2010; a merit-based system for faculty hiring and promotion; finances, which include the external audit report on the 2009-10 and 2010-11 fiscal years, the 2011-12 and 2012-13 budgets, a report on the current session to date, and the newly drafted Financial Rules; the Pension Fund and the Provident Fund; various legal matters; and property matters.
